In great news for the Territory's events calendar, and those who enjoy the wide variety of festivals and events on offer in the Territory, the latest round of the Northern Territory Government's Event Funding Program (EFP) is open.

Administered by Northern Territory Major Events Company (NTMEC), the EFP supports events of all shapes and sizes that celebrate the uniqueness on the NT, from the Top End to the Red Centre and plenty of places in between.

The EFP supports the local events sector, helps attract new events to the Territory, boosts tourism and visitation, and enhances the Territory lifestyle by helping to build a year-round events calendar.

A wide variety of events are supported, including cultural days, music festivals, sporting competitions and special interest events.

· Sport Event - celebrates sport, inspires sport participation, improves liveability;

· Aboriginal Cultural Event - celebrates Aboriginal culture, inspires the community, attracts visitation, and encourages, supports, empowers and builds the capacity of

Indigenous businesses.
