Launch of library on go

A range of Logan Libraries services are now available via a new app.
Deputy Mayor and City Lifestyle Chair Laurie Koranski logs in to the new Logan Libraries app which provides access to half a million items.

Residents can now use a new free app to access a range of Logan Libraries services.

The app works on smart phones and tablets and a library membership card is not needed once the app has been activated.

Deputy Mayor and City Lifestyle Chair Laurie Koranski said the Logan Libraries app would allow the community easier access to one of the city's favourite community spaces.

"The app provides access to half a million items from our Logan Libraries collections," Cr Koranski said.

"It allows library members to search and instantly access their favourite authors, topics, movies and music."

The app can be used to borrow items, to book a free library computer, submit a print job or get details about free Logan Libraries' events and activities.

Books can be reserved for borrowing by scanning the book's ISBN barcode via the app.

Library members can also link their family accounts together to see when items are due, or to collect reserved items.

The app can be downloaded from Google Play or the App Store, by searching for Logan Libraries.

Current members can use their library membership number and PIN/password to activate the app.

Non-members, who are aged 18 and over, can apply for library membership through the app.
