Vice-Chancellor Professor Simone Buitendijk’s latest blog argues for the importance of universities taking a values-based approach to their work to help tackle global issues.
In it she sets out the themes for the University’s forthcoming 10-year strategy: Culture, Community and Impact.
“A culture based on institutional values such as trust, transparency, equality, diversity and inclusion, and based on collaboration instead of competition; a community, of staff and students within the university, and with the wider region; and impact through focus on decreasing local and global inequality,” she writes.
