Learner Driver More Than Six Times Limit In Glenroy

A learner driver has blown more than six times the limit after being intercepted by officers from Fawkner Highway Patrol yesterday.

Officers pulled over a 29-year-old woman about 8am on Pascoe Vale Road after she was allegedly observed using Facetime while driving.

Officers spoke to the woman, who underwent a preliminary breath test and returned a positive result.

She was then taken to a nearby police station where she underwent an evidentiary breath test, returning an alleged reading of .312.

Further checks on the woman revealed she held a Victorian Learners Permit and was therefore driving without a supervising driver.

She was issued a 12-month driving suspension and is expected to be charged on summons with unlicenced driving and drink driving offences.

Her vehicle was also impounded at a cost of $999.52.
