The Leeton Golf Course has recorded its first net operating profit since Council assumed responsibility for the facility's operation and management in 2012.
An update presented to Council's July Ordinary Meeting showed the course achieved a net operating profit of $1,356 in 2025/26, compared with a budgeted operating deficit of $41K.
The result was supported by increased participation, with 19,404 rounds played during the year, up 1,188 rounds, or 6.5 per cent, from 2024/25.
Council's Manager Open Space & Recreation, Josh Clyne, said the figures reflected the course's continued growth and excellent condition.
"The golf course continues to go from strength to strength, with participation increasing and membership remaining steady," Mr Clyne said.
"It has been particularly encouraging to see more young people getting involved, with five (5) additional junior memberships and two (2) additional memberships in the 18 to 29 age group.
"Recording the first net operating profit since Council assumed responsibility for the facility is a significant achievement, particularly as this is the first year that irrigation water consumption has been fully recognised in the operating result.
"The commencement of Golf Clubhouse operations in October 2025 has also increased participation and activity at the course."
Commenting on the report, Cr Tracey Morris thanked the course's 32 active volunteers, who contributed a combined 842 hours between 1 July 2025 and 30 June 2026.
Volunteers assisted with watercourse management, mowing and slashing, tree planting and branch removal, bunker maintenance, fairway turf repairs and weed spraying.
"The time and effort contributed by our volunteers plays an important role in maintaining the course to such a high standard," Cr Morris said.
