Lemon Springs March update

Work on the cleanup of the Lemon Springs site in the state's north-west has continued during December, January and February.

Groundwater testing continued to show no contamination. EPA will keep the community informed on the results of these tests throughout the project.

More than 1,200 tonnes of waste has now been assessed, treated and removed from the site for appropriate disposal.

Planning is also well advanced to treat and dispose of thousands of acetylene cylinders excavated from the site. EPA is working with contractors and experts to ensure the safe removal, treatment and disposal of cylinders.
