Liberals Announce Strong, United Lyons Team

Liberal Tasmania
  • Jeremy Rockliff Premier, Minister for Tourism, Minister for Trade and Major Investment, Member for Braddon
  • Premier Jeremy Rockliff has today announced the seven Liberal Candidates for Lyons who will get on with the job, for Tasmania.

"I am proud to announce that Guy Barnett, Jane Howlett and Mark Shelton are seeking re-election," Premier Rockliff said.

"Between them, they have demonstrated their determination to get results for Tasmanians, and they are valuable members of our united team.

"To complete our strong team in Lyons, I am proud to announce that Richard Hallett, Steph Cameron, Bree Groves, and Poppy Lyne are all putting their hands up to serve their community.

"Steph Cameron is a well-known name in Lyons, having already established herself as a strong and competent leader, delivering outstanding results for the Meander Valley.

"Poppy Lyne joins our team, bringing with her over 40 years of agricultural experience - something that is vitally important for Tasmania's rural and regional communities.

"Richard Hallett is a fifth-generation farmer who has worked across the Derwent Valley and Central Highlands - he isn't afraid of hard work and is an excellent addition to our Liberal team.

"Bree Groves is Tasmanian through and through and a passionate advocate for her community - having worked in the disability support sector and government, I know she will work hard for the people of Lyons.

"These are Tasmanians who are well-respected, bringing a depth of talent we're lucky to have.

"This election wasn't our choice. Labor forced the election on you because they are more interested in political games over Tasmanian families.

"A majority Liberal Government is the only way to keep Tasmania moving forward with certainty, stability, and efficiency.

"This election comes down to one choice: a strong Liberal team with a real plan or another merry-go-round.

"Let's get on with it and let's finish the job, for Tasmania."
