Liberals Recommend Peter George Behind Labor, Greens Last

Liberal Tasmania
  • Claire Chandler Shadow Minister for Government Services and the Digital Economy, Shadow Minister for Science and the Arts & Senator for Tasmania
  • The Liberals have recommended voters put anti-salmon independent Peter George behind Labor in Franklin, and recommended voters put the Greens last in all Tasmanian House of Representatives seats.

"The Liberals have made the principled decision to recommend voters put anti-salmon independent Peter George behind Labor in the seat of Franklin," Senator Claire Chandler said.

"While Labor are bad, Mr George and his anti-salmon views are worse and we want to ensure that in any potential contest between the two that Mr George is not successful.

"Additionally, the Liberals will be putting the Greens last on our how to vote cards in all Tasmanian House of Representatives seats.

"The Greens are anti-salmon, anti-forestry, and anti-mining not to mention their loopy policies such as paying a multi-national supermarket company $30 million to come to Tasmania to compete with locally owned small businesses.

"In contrast, no doubt Labor will preference the Greens very highly on their how to votes because we know that at the end of the day, Labor equals Green and Green equals Labor.

"The only way to get Australia Back on Track and protect Tasmania from the risk of a Federal Labor-Green Government is to vote Liberal."
