Library opens at Prahran Square

The much-anticipated library at Prahran Square has opened.

City of Stonnington, Mayor Councillor Kate Hely, said she is delighted to welcome the community to the library at Prahran Square, which is fast becoming the community and cultural heart of Prahran.

"Prahran Square Library is an important community asset and I am thrilled to see it open in this vibrant and multi-purpose community space," said Cr Hely.

"With summer here, the Prahran Square Library is a great space to read, learn and discover, and I look forward to seeing the community enjoying this wonderful contemporary facility.

"This is an inclusive, vibrant space and I invite you to come and visit Prahran Square Library and get to know your neighbourhood and your new-look local library," said Cr Hely.

All regular library services and resources are available, including a summer school holiday program for the kids.

Members can browse, borrow and read from popular collections, collect reservations, use free Wi-Fi and use the click and collect service. There is also an after-hours chute for book returns.

Located just outside Woolworths, Prahran Square Library joins the new Stonnington Services and Visitors Hub that has opened at the Chatham Street end of Prahran Square.

The Prahran Square Library opening hours match those of all Stonnington libraries:

Monday to Friday | 10am to 5pm

Saturday | 10am to 1pm

Sunday and public holidays | closed
