Life issues affected Labor in recent Federal Election

"Right to Life Australia – Australia's leading pro-life lobby group has played an effective role in the Federal election on life issues" says Margaret Tighe, President.

She said "Right to Life Australia ran an extensive campaign in the seat of Bennelong in Sydney against Labor's "star" candidate Dr Brian Owler who had played a major role in the legalisation of euthanasia in Victoria".

She went on: "We even advertised in Mandarin in the popular Epoch Times. Some leading members of the Chinese community played a very helpful role in our successful campaign".

Mrs Tighe concluded: "In Victoria and elsewhere we distributed a hard hitting brochure attacking Labor's enthusiastic campaign promising more access to abortions in major public hospitals. I believe this message was particularly effective in Melbourne's eastern suburban seats which Labor hoped to claim".
