At 11:09 on Saturday, August 22, the officiel inaugural train pulls into Anker Engelunds Vej Station. To the right of the tracks, children and adults wave green flags and blow soap bubbles. On the other side, DTU President Anders Bjarklev prepares to cut the ribbon and board the train. After several years of construction work, the light rail is no longer something DTU is waiting for. It is now part of the campus.
With the opening of the Greater Copenhagen Light Rail along its full route between Ishøj and Lundtofte, DTU Lyngby Campus now has three light rail stations: Rævehøjvej, Anker Engelunds Vej and Akademivej. The stations will serve as new entrances to the university and make it easier for students, employees, neighbours and visitors to travel to and from campus.
