Camperdown's much-anticipated Light Up Festival is back to brighten a spring evening with colour, music, and festive cheer.

Corangamite Shire Gnotuk Ward Councillor Ruth Gstrein invited everyone across the region to come along on Friday 5 December 2025 for a fun night of lights, entertainment, and community spirit.

"After a fantastic turnout last year, Council is excited to make this year's event even bigger and better," Cr Gstrein said.

"Light Up Camperdown is a fun, colourful evening that's all about getting together with friends and family to enjoy the lighting, projections, and interactive activities. It's a great way to kick off the festive season and support local businesses."

"Expect dazzling light installations, roving performers, live music, and plenty of family-friendly fun from 4.30 pm to 9.30 pm.

There will be a free screening of Christmas Movie: The Polar Express at the Theatre Royal from 4.30–6 pm and a Glow Circus Workshop for youth (5–6 pm) at the Old Stadium where young people can learn circus skills to perform at the clocktower after the lantern parade.

"The young and young at heart can dance along to Award winning children's entertainer Bethany Fisher's Christmas Spectacular ahead of the Lantern Parade from the Theatre to the Clocktower at 8.35 pm and Clocktower Lighting Ceremony at 9 pm," Cr Gstrein said.

"There will also be buskers, a community choir, the stilt-walking Green Lady, and juggler Rich Royale's fire and LED show.

"Local businesses will stay open until 8.30 pm, so grab a bite, enjoy late-night shopping, and soak up the festive atmosphere. The Camperdown Lions Club will be firing up the barbecue, and Santa will be ready for photos at Benallack's Sports."

The Glow Circus Workshop is supported by the Victorian Government.
