More than 2,000 runners will start and finish race at Anglia Ruskin University
More than 2,000 runners will pound the pavements in March as they take on the Chelmsford Half Marathon, which begins and finishes at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU).
The event will take place on Sunday, 5 March and there will be a half marathon (just over 13 miles), as well as a 10km and a 5km race for those who prefer to run shorter distances.
The routes will begin at ARU's Chelmsford campus, on Bishop Hall Lane, with staff from ARU's Old Factory Gym leading the warm-ups. Runners will then travel through the city's streets and take in some of the surrounding countryside, before finishing back at ARU.
A number of road closures will be in place during the event to ensure the safety of runners. These include Parkway, Essex Yeomanry Way and Chelmer Village Way.
The event is registered with UK Athletics, and first aid and security teams will be on hand, alongside approximately 100 event staff.
