Explore sustainable living, learn more about better eco-choices and treat yourself with
hands-on workshops to save money, at the annual Live it Up, Live it Green event, on
Saturday 17 May 2025.
The much-loved free community event will be held at Camden Show Hall and Rotunda
area at Onslow Oval and features family-friendly activities to promote sustainable living
choices, connects the community and promote Council's wide variety of sustainability
initiatives.
"Live it Up, Live it Green offers something for everyone, with a jam-packed program of
activities and demonstrations to help everyone live more sustainably in a fun and engaging
way," said Mayor of Camden, Cr Ashleigh Cagney.
"I'm looking forward to seeing the Camden community come together to engage in
sustainable living experiences, while enjoying a great day out that the whole family can
enjoy.
"There will be live music, food, upcycling and green cleaning workshops and the kids can
explore some exciting reptile displays, see venomous snakes and discover insects, tree
frogs and spiders.
The event will be a mixture of indoor activities and outdoor activities such as workshops,
demonstrations, specialised talks and information stalls from Council and external partners
including:
- Live Reptile Display with snake pit and venomous snakes;
- Hooked on Nature showcasing live insects, tree frogs and spiders;
- Free native plant giveaway;
- Electric vehicle display by NSW Government and Australian Electric Vehicle
Association;
- Green cleaning workshop;
- Top-to-Tote upcycling workshop;
- Camden Council sustainable living and waste information;
- Free face painting;
- Live music;
- Sydney Water activation;
- Indigenous land management and cultural burning;
- Landcare, Local Land Services (LLS), and Greening Australia providing supporting
residents to protect and enhance flora and fauna;
- National Parks and Wildlife Services and NSW Government Saving our Species;
- Energy and Water Ombudsman NSW;
- State Emergency Services in attendance;
- Red Cross stall;
- Parents for Climate stall;
- A range of sustainability presentations and more.
