Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) employees contributed more than $257,000 to charitable causes through the 2026 Open Match Giving Campaign, a year-round giving opportunity offered through LLNL Giving Pathways and the Helping Others More Effectively (HOME) Campaign.

From Jan. 1 through Aug. 31, 192 employees made 740 donations benefiting 290 IRS-qualified 501(c)(3) organizations. The campaign also welcomed 56 employees who were new HOME donors.

This year's campaign gave employees eight months to support causes that matter to them, using debit cards, credit cards or Fidelity Charitable Giving Accounts. Lawrence Livermore National Security, LLC (LLNS) matched eligible donations at 40%, for a total of nearly $68,000.

New in 2026, employees also received an LLNS match for eligible donations made directly to a nonprofit or at a charitable event outside the Fidelity Workplace Giving platform. Participants submitted receipts through Fidelity for review and verification, enabling greater flexibility while preserving the benefit of the LLNS match. The campaign processed 140 outside donations.

The Open Match Giving Campaign is a cornerstone of LLNL Giving Pathways, which expands on the Lab's more than 50-year tradition of employee giving through HOME. Along with targeted donation drives and volunteer opportunities, Giving Pathways provides employees with flexible ways to support their communities throughout the year.
