Works by more than 200 Central West artists will feature in Orange Regional Gallery's new exhibition HERE/NOW, opening on Saturday 19 September.
HERE/NOW is the Gallery's annual open community exhibition, which celebrates the wide-ranging talent and creative spirit that exists in our region.
Each year the Gallery invites artists at all stages of their art practice to submit up to two recent artworks, with the guarantee that at least one work will be exhibited, ensuring local artists have an opportunity every year to exhibit their work.
Orange City Council's Recreation and Culture Policy Committee Chair, Cr Tammy Greenhalgh said a highlight of the popular exhibition was seeing the wide variety of works submitted by the artists.
"One of the most exciting things about HERE/NOW is the incredible variety of work on display," Cr Greenhalgh said.
"With more than 200 artists taking part, visitors can experience a snapshot of the creativity, ideas and stories being explored across the Central West. It's a celebration of local talent and a reminder of the strength of our regional arts community."
The exhibition will feature everything from drawings, paintings and photography to sculptures, ceramics and printmaking by artists living in the local government areas of Orange, Bathurst, Blayney, Cabonne, Cowra, Forbes, Lachlan Shire, Lithgow, Oberon, Parkes and Weddin Shire.
HERE/NOW will be officially opened by Orange Mayor Tony Mileto at Orange Regional Gallery at 6pm on Friday 18 September.
The exhibition will run until 25 October.
