Local government employee charged over sexual touching of teen girl

A man will appear in court today charged over the alleged sexual touching of a teenage girl at a school event in Sydney's west.

Detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad commenced an investigation, following reports a 15-year-old girl had been sexually touched by an unknown man during an event at a high school last month.

Following inquiries, detectives arrested a 52-year-old man at business on Queen Street, Campbelltown, on Tuesday 2 April 2019.

He was taken to Campbelltown Police Station and charged with common assault and intentionally sexually touch child between 10 and 16 years.

Police will allege in court that the man, who is a local government employee, sexually touched the girl during a school event.

The Northmead man was granted conditional bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court today (Monday 29 April 2019).

Investigations are continuing.
