Local Innovation Expert Sought to Propel Health, Medical Research

The Cook Government's Future Health Research and Innovation (FHRI) Fund is searching for a leader in innovation to join its Advisory Council as it prepares to invest $250 million dollars in health and medical research over the next four years.

The FHRI Fund backed by the State's sovereign wealth fund has seen $89.2 million invested to date, driving local health and medical research, innovation and commercialisation.

The fund is designed to position WA as a leader in research and innovation, improve the sustainability of the health system, and the health and prosperity of all Western Australians, leading to a better quality of life for the WA community.

The Advisory Council is made up of prominent professionals with experience in fields such as research, innovation, business, law, finance, corporate governance, and the philanthropic, charitable, and not-for-profit sectors.

The high-profile panel plays a key role in determining the strategy and priorities of the FHRI Fund and provides advice to Minister for Medical Research and the Department of Health.
