Local police working with THPC throughout Western Region

Traffic and Highway Patrol Command along with local police in Western Region will continue to actively patrol our arterial roadways, train stations, bus stations, camping grounds, recreational areas and service stations to minimise the impact of COVID in our communities.

There is an additional presence across Western Region roads which allows police to ensure compliance with the public health orders.

In the last 24 hours officers have issued 31 Penalty Infringement Notices throughout Western Region, which include:

  • Barrier Police District – 2
  • Central North Police District – 0
  • Central West Police District – 3
  • Chifley Police District – 9
  • New England Police District – 0
  • Orana Mid Western Police District – 15
  • Oxley Police District - 2

If you are stopped for a breath test, your licence will be checked and enquiries are made about your reason for travel in Western Region. This is about keeping everyone safe and limiting the spread and impact of COVID on the community overall.

Western Region officers will continue monitoring to deter, detect and prevent breaches of the Public Health Order in our region.
