The City of Logan will open its libraries to 20 people at a time from Wednesday, June 3 in response to the State Government's Stage 2 restrictions being brought forward.
People will be able to loan library items, use computers and print during each library's normal operating hours.
The change to comply with Federal and State requirements will apply at all libraries with the exception of the Logan Village and Greenbank libraries.
Logan Village will only allow five customers at a time while Greenbank will only allow six because of space restrictions.
Library customers are encouraged to plan for short visits and to continue wherever possible using Logan Library's online resources for eBooks, eAudiobooks, magazines and resources for children.
Visits are restricted to 30 minutes or less to help Logan Libraries assist as many people as possible each day.
No programs, events or community use of meeting rooms will take place inside the libraries during Stage Two of the easing of restrictions.
Council-owned overnight-stay parks - Hugh Muntz Park at Beenleigh and Tully Memorial Park at Jimboomba - are now open.
Council is currently working to ensure signage at its parks and reserves are updated with the latest restriction advice.
In Logan's 930 parks, gatherings are limited to a maximum of 20 people. People from different households must stay 1.5 metres apart.
Council-owned and operated pools, gyms and indoor sports centres will remain closed for now as Council reviews health and safety protocols in consultation with industry bodies and the State Government.
Council looks forward to making further announcements with regards to the resumption of these services in the near future.
Venues including the Logan Entertainment Centre, Beenleigh Events Centre and other community venues are now accepting bookings for groups of up to 20 people for meetings however public performances will not be recommencing until later in the year.
To allow for the completion of maintenance works and the installation of new exhibitions Council will re-open Logan Art Gallery from 10am on Saturday, June 13.
Council also plans to open Mayes Cottage at 10.30am on Saturday, July 11 as part of the Stage 3 easing of restrictions.
