Guy Barnett, Minister for Small Business, Trade and Consumer Affairs
The Tasmanian Government is making it easier for consumers to choose authentic Tasmanian products and services, with a new campaign raising awareness of the TASMANIAN Mark.
The campaign will run across October and November on social media and in selected retail outlets.
Minister for Small Business, Trade and Consumer Affairs, Guy Barnett, said the TASMANIAN Mark makes it easier to support local businesses, jobs and communities.
"After Woolworth's decision to stop stocking Tassie beef, we've seen a surge in consumers seeking authentic Tasmanian products," Minister Barnett said.
"The TASMANIAN Mark gives people a trusted way to identify products and services that are genuinely Tasmanian.
"This campaign will help more people recognise the Mark and make it easier to choose local when they shop."
The campaign will also encourage eligible Tasmanian businesses to apply for and use the Mark, with business profiles and practical information showing how they can tell their stories and connect with customers, particularly in our crucial export markets.
"More than 300 Tasmanian businesses are already using the Mark and we want to see that number continue to grow.
"I encourage Tasmanian producers, manufacturers, tourism operators and service providers to find out how the Mark can benefit their business."
Consumers can look for the TASMANIAN Mark in store or use Brand Tasmania's licence-holder directory to find participating businesses.
Businesses can learn more and apply on the Brand Tasmania website.
