Lorraine and Peter have been part of Hudson Institute's story for more than four decades. Their connection began during Lorraine's early married life, when her father served on the board of Prince Henry's during the 1970s. Their own relationship with the Institute deepened years later, when they sought early fertility treatment from Professor Henry Burger. Those connections stayed with them, and in 1985 they made their first gift to the Institute.
Their support has continued steadily ever since. Peter, now 82, retired from an electrical engineering business only a few years ago, and Lorraine's career in teaching, disability support, and aged care shaped her deep belief in helping others.
Today, much of their time is spent with their three grandchildren, and that closeness to family has made childhood research areas especially meaningful to them. They also follow inflammation research closely and have chosen to support a wide range of scientific areas over the years.
Their long-term generosity has helped researchers pursue new ideas, strengthen collaborations, and build momentum in fields that rely on sustained donor support. Lorraine and Peter have watched the Institute evolve and grow, and they've remained committed through every chapter.
