Man and woman to face court over deception and theft, SA

Detectives from Holden Hill CIB have arrested a man and woman from the north-eastern suburbs for several deception and theft offences yesterday, according to SA Police.

It will be alleged that between February and March 2017 the man and woman falsified stolen cheques to a total value of $110 000 which were then either deposited into bank accounts or used to purchase goods online. Most of these offences occurred in the northern suburbs of Adelaide.

Police conducted a search of their home and uncovered a number of items believed to be stolen including computers, electronic equipment and jewellery.

A 35-year-old man was charged with 37 counts of dishonest dealings with documents, theft, attempted theft and providing false information to a second hand dealer. A 35-year-old woman was charged with 37 counts of dishonest dealing with documents and 21 counts of theft. They were bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 30 August 2017.
