Man arrested after weekend shooting at Lightsview, South Australia

Police have arrested a man wanted in connection with a shooting on the weekend at Lightsview.

About 9.10am on Sunday 27 January, police and ambulance crews were called to Redward Avenue after reports that a man had shot another man in the leg.

The suspect left the scene prior to police arrival.

The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital for further examination of non life-threatening injuries.

The incident is not believed to be random.

Just after 4.30pm today (Thursday 31 January), police along with Star Group officers attended an address in Port Willunga and arrested the man without incident.

The 42-year-old from Port Willunga is expected to be charged with aggravated assault cause serious harm. He will be refused bail to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court tomorrow.
