Man assaulted West Terrace, South Australia

Police are seeking witnesses to an assault at on West Terrace yesterday.

At 6.50pm Friday 1 April police were called to West Terrace Adelaide after reports of a physical altercation between the occupants of an orange coloured Honda sedan and a taxi that had been travelling in southbound direction.

The passenger in the rear of the taxi has then got out and assaulted the man and the taxi has driven off.

Witnesses were able to get the taxi's registration and police located the suspect a short distance away.

The victim a 70-year-old man from Cheltenham was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with serious head injuries.

A 30-year-old-man from Mansfield Park has been charged with assault cause harm.

He has been granted bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 12 May.
