Man Charged After Abbotsbury Road-Rage Gun Incident

A man will face court today after allegedly producing a firearm during a road-rage incident in Sydney's west yesterday.

Officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command commenced an investigation following a report a man allegedly held a firearm outside the window of a moving vehicle on Cowpasture Road, Abbotsbury, about 1pm (Sunday 25 May 2025).

Following inquiries, police executed a search warrant about 9.30pm at a house on Lancaster Avenue, Cecil Hills, with the assistance of officers attached to the Tactical Operations Unit.

Police located and seized a replica firearm.

A 58-year-old man was arrested at the scene and was taken to Fairfield Police Station.

He was charged with possess unauthorised firearm, and armed with intent commit indictable offence.

The man was refused bail to appear before Fairfield Local Court today (Monday 26 May 2025).
