Man Charged After Hydroponic Bust in Chifley

Police have charged a man after an alleged hydroponic setup was found at a house in the state's Chifley Police District earlier this year.

In June 2026, officers attached to the Western Region Enforcement Squad commenced an investigation into suspected cannabis cultivation in the Lithgow area.

Following inquiries, police executed a search warrant at a property in Lemnos Street, Littleton, near Lithgow, about 9.30am onThursday 16 July 2026.

During the search, it will be alleged police located and seized a total of 124 cannabis plants,100 harvested plants and approximately 30kg of dried cannabis leaf inside six rooms throughout the house.

A significant amount of equipment used in the cultivation of cannabis was also allegedly seized from the home.

The estimated street value of the cannabis seized is more than $200,000.

Following extensive inquiries officers from the Western Region Enforcement Squad attended a correctional facility at Silverwater and spoke with a 50-year-old man.

He was charged Supply prohibited drug > commercial quantity and cultivate cannabis > indictable & < commercial quantity and refused bail to appear at Bail Division Court 6 tomorrow (Thursday 10 September 2026).

Investigations are ongoing.
