Man Charged After Hydroponic Bust in Fairfield West

A man has been charged over alleged drug offences in Sydney's south west today.

Following inquiries into suspected drug supply in the area, detectives attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command executed a search warrant at a home on Hamilton Road, Fairfield West, about 1.15pm today (Friday 27 June 2025).

During the search, police allegedly located hydroponic equipment, 29 Cannabis plants and an OC spray can.

A 64-year-old man was arrested at the scene.

He was taken to Fairfield Police Station where he was charged with cultivate prohibited plant greater than small and less than or equal to indictable quantity, divert/use electricity for generating etc system without authority, and possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court on Wednesday 6 August 2025.
