Man charged following alleged 'ice' fuelled assault in Forbes

Police have charged a man following an alleged ‘ice’ fuelled assault in the state’s Central West overnight, NSW Police say.

Shortly after 10pm yesterday, yesterday, emergency services were called to Dawson Street, Forbes following reports a Holden Vectra had hit a 17-year-old man.

Police will allege, an18-year-old man, was driving the vehicle and believed to be high on ‘ice’, jumped out of the car, allegedly producing a weapon and threatened two other men.

The two men were able to disarm the 18-year-old man before he fled the scene.

NSW Ambulance Paramedics treated the 17-year-old man at the scene before taking him to Orange Hospital with a broken leg and minor injuries.

Officers attached to Lachlan Local Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

Just after 11pm yesterday, yesterday, the 18-year-old man attended Forbes Police Station.

He was arrested and charged with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The man was granted strict bail and will appear at Forbes Local Court on Thursday, 9 June 2016.
