Man charged following erratic driving on Monash Freeway

Dandenong Divisional Response Unit members have charged a man following an alleged incident on the Monash Freeway on Sunday 1 April, Victoria Police say.

It is alleged a man was driving erratically along the outbound lanes of the freeway in Berwick about 3.40am.

The car caught fire about 4.10am near the Tynong Road exit in Tynong.

The driver, a 23-year-old Traralgon man, was arrested shortly after in nearby bushland.

He was charged with conduct endangering life and other unrelated offences and has been remanded to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 9 April.
