Man Charged for Vandalizing Bondi Lifeguard Tower

A man will face court tomorrow after he allegedly vandalised a lifeguard tower and other public property across Sydney's east late last year.

On Saturday 29 November 2026, police were called to Campbell Parade, Bondi Beach, following several reports of a malicious damage.

Officers attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command attended and found that the Bondi Beach lifeguard tower, as well as several bins, bollards and signs across the Bondi Beach area had been graffitied.

Police established a crime scene and Eastern Suburbs detectives commenced an investigation into the incident.

During the investigation, detectives determined that two unknown men had allegedly graffitied the property between 12.40am and 2am on the Saturday.

Following extensive investigations, detectives – with assistance from Operation Odin officers – executed a search warrant at a home on Arden Street, Waverley, about 8.10am today (Friday 17 April 2026).

During the search, police located and seized a small amount of ketamine, markers and personal items.

Following the search, a 32-year-old man was arrested before being taken to Surry Hills Police Station.

He has been charged with 35 offences including:

  • Intentionally mark premises etc without consent (21 counts)
  • Destroy or damage property (13 counts)
  • Possess prohibited drug

The man was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Local Court 7 tomorrow (Saturday 18 April 2026).

Investigations to locate the second man are continuing.
