Man Charged in $14M Cocaine Syndicate Bust

Drug and Firearms Squad detectives have charged an additional man over an alleged $14 million dollar drug supply syndicate accused of extracting cocaine concealed in timber.

Strike Force Capulin was established in August 2025 by State Crime Command's Drug and Firearms Squad to investigate the alleged large-scale supply of prohibited drugs in northern New South Wales.

The investigation commenced after detectives received intelligence that inside four tonnes of timber planks was about 100 kilograms of cocaine allegedly set to be extracted by the syndicate.

With assistance from Queensland Police, five people have previously been charged and remain before the courts.

Following further inquiries, about 7.40am today (Tuesday 24 March 2026), strike force detectives executed a search warrant in Bora Ridge.

A 27-year-old man was arrested and taken to Lismore Police Station, where he was charged with supply prohibited firearm to unauthorised person, supply prohibited drug >= large commercial quantity, supply prohibited drug >indictable & $5000 and fail to comply digital evidence access order direction.

The man was refused bail to appear in Bail Division Local Court 1 tomorrow (Wednesday 25 March 2026).
