Man Charged in Central Coast Fraud Probe

A man has been charged with more than 20 counts of dishonestly obtain property by deception after an allegedly stolen credit card was used at businesses across the Central Coast.

In June 2023, police from the Brisbane Water Proactive Crime Investigation Team commenced an investigation into several fraudulent transactions they believed were linked.

Following inquiries, investigators executed a search warrant at a property on Karalta Road, Erina, about 1.40pm yesterday (Wednesday 28 June 2023).

A 31-year-old man was arrested at the scene before being taken to Gosford Police Station where he was charged with 21 counts of dishonestly obtain property by deception, two counts of larceny, and aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence.

He was refused bail to appear before Gosford Local Court today (Thursday 29 June 2023).
