A man has faced court charged with drug supply and breach of bail offences as part of an investigation in the state's Central West.
In November 2025, Western Region Enforcement Squad commenced Strike Force Lazard to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs into western New South Wales.
Following investigations, yesterday morning (Thursday 27 August 2026), police stopped a utility on the Great Western Highway, Wentworth Falls.
The driver – a 29-year-old man – was arrested and taken to Katoomba Police Station.
The vehicle was seized for further examination.
Later the same day, officers from Western Region Enforcement Squad and Penrith Region Enforcement Squad, with the assistance of Blue Mountains Police District, executed a search warrant at a home on Sayers Street, Lawson, where they seized several items relating to the investigation.
The 29-year-old man was charged with six offences,
- Supply prohibited drug greater than or equal to commercial quantity
- Supply prohibited drug greater than or equal to large commercial quantity
- Supply prohibited drug greater than indictable and less than commercial quantity (two counts)
- Participate criminal group contribute criminal activity, and
- Breach of bail.
He was refused bail and faced Bail Division Court 4 yesterday (Thursday 27 August 2026), where he was formally refused bail to reappear before Bathurst Local Court on Wednesday 14 October 2026.
The charges follow a 29-year-old man being arrested and charged in Bathurst on Wednesday 12 August 2026, after he allegedly returned a positive reading for methylamphetamine during roadside testing, and methylamphetamine and cocaine was seized which has an estimated potential street value of $10,000.
