Man dies after collision at Tumblong

A man has died after a motor vehicle collision on the Old Hume Highway in Tumblong – near Gundagai today.

About 1.20pm (Saturday 24 August 2019), emergency services were called to the Old Hume Highway, near Sylvias Gap Road, following reports of a two-vehicle crash.

A south-bound Nissan Patrol, towing a trailer, and a Toyota Hilux Utility collided, causing the Nissan to roll.

Police, NSW Ambulance paramedics and local State Emergency Service crews attended.

The 60-year-old male driver of the Nissan died at the scene. A 65-year-old female passenger was conveyed to Wagga Wagga hospital in a serious condition.

The male driver of the Hilux, aged 31, was taken to Gundagai Hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene has been established and Crash Investigation Unit are attending to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

All traffic is being diverted to Gundagai via Gocup Road to Tumut and Snowy Mountains Highway to Adelong and then re-joins the Hume Highway.
