Man dies after crash in Cudgegong

A man has died after a single-vehicle crash in Cudgegong today, NSW Police say.

About 8.30am (Saturday 7 April 2018) emergency services were called to a single-vehicle crash on the Castlereagh Highway, Cudgegong.

Police have been told a four-wheel-drive utility was travelling down an embankment on a private property and skidded.

As a result an 18-year-old front male passenger was ejected from the vehicle. He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and later died.

The driver, a 17-year old teenage boy, and his passengers aged between 17 to 19 years of age were not injured.

The driver was taken to Mudgee Base Hospital for treatment for minor injuries.

Officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation with assistance from Crash Investigation Unit into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
