Man dies after multi-vehicle crash - Monaro

A man has died following a multi-vehicle crash in the Monaro region today.

About 12.15pm (Thursday 13 January 2022), emergency services were called to the Kings Highway, near Goulburn Road, Mulloon, after reports of a crash.

Upon arrival, officers from Monaro Police District found a Mazda sedan and a heavy vehicle had impacted, before the sedan and an Audi SUV collided head-on.

The driver and sole occupant of the sedan – a man aged 51 – died at the scene.

The male driver of the heavy vehicle was not injured, while the male driver of the SUV – and his female front seat passenger – sustained minor injuries. A child in the back seat was not injured.

The Kings Highway East of Bungendore is closed, and diversions are in place at Bungendore township and Goulburn Road.

A crime scene has been established and police have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
