Officers from Nunawading Highway Patrol are investigating following a fatal crash at Wheelers Hill last month.
Investigators were told a car veered from a Springvale Road north bound lane, at the intersection of Village Court and Magid Avenue, across into south bound lanes before colliding with an unoccupied parked car and coming to a stop against a signpost on Friday 13 August about 7.50pm.
The sole occupant of the car, a 77-year-old Glen Waverley man, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Sadly, he later died in hospital.
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner and the investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
