Man dies in flood waters - Central Coast

A man has died after his vehicle entered flood waters on the Central Coast overnight.

Just after midnight (Friday 25 February 2022), emergency services were called to Oak Road, Matcham, following reports of a vehicle had gone missing in flood waters.

Following inquiries, officers attached to Brisbane Water Police District located a Toyota Land Cruiser in flood waters near the Maddens Creek crossing, about 1.30am (Friday 25 February 2022).

The body of a 54-year-old Matcham man was found inside the vehicle.

A crime scene was established and an investigation commenced into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A report will now be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
