Man dies in single-vehicle crash at Liverpool

A man has died following a single-vehicle crash in Sydney's south-west overnight.

About 1am (Saturday 12 June 2021), emergency services were called to Edmondson Avenue, Austral, near Tenth Avenue, following reports of a crash.

On arrival, officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command found a BMW sedan had left the roadway and crashed through a fence and into a power pole, before catching fire.

The driver and single occupant of the vehicle, believed to be a man, was located inside the car deceased. He is yet to be formally identified.

A crime scene was established as inquiries into the cause of the crash commenced.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
