Man dies in single-vehicle crash - Lisarow

A man has died, and a woman has been injured, in a single-vehicle crash on the Central Coast today.

About 6.30am (Tuesday 29 September 2020), emergency services were called to the Pacific Highway, Lisarow, after reports a Holden Commodore veered off the road.

Police were told the car was travelling south on the Pacific Highway when it left the roadway near the intersection of Teralba Street and crashed into a sign.

The driver, a man aged 65, was treated by passers-by. Despite efforts to revive him, he died at the scene.

A female passenger was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for non-life-threatening injuries, before being taken to Gosford Hospital in a stable condition.

One lane remains closed and motorists are advised to expect delays or avoid the area.

Officers attached to Brisbane Water Police District established a crime scene and the circumstances surrounding the crash are being investigated.

It is believed the driver may have suffered a medical episode prior to the crash.

Both the driver and passenger are yet to be identified and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
