A man has died following a unit fire at Malabar this morning.
Just after 10am (Tuesday 6 July 2021), emergency services attended Wyee Place following reports a unit was alight.
A man aged in his 50s was pulled from the unit; however, he was unable to be revived and died at the scene.
He has not been formally identified.
The fire was extinguished, and the unit was significantly damaged.
A crime scene was established and will be forensically examined.
Officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command will investigate the circumstances surrounding the cause of the fire and a brief will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
