Man stabbed at Mount Barker

Police are investigating a violent assault at Mount Barker overnight.

Patrols and paramedics responded to reports a man had been stabbed in Laver Street, Mount Barker about 1am on Wednesday 18 January.

A 40-year-old man was found was a stab wound to the groin and was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical condition. His injuries are now considered serious but not life-threatening.

Hills Fleurieu Detectives and crime scene investigators attended the scene overnight.

The investigation is in its early stages, however, this is not believed to be a random incident.
