Man to face court after stabbing, SA

A 27-year-old man is expected to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court tomorrow charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass, property damage and assault offences, according to SA Police.

About 6.55am yesterday (29 May, 2016) police were advised that a 26-year-old Gilles Plains man had presented at Modbury Hospital with stab wounds.

He is undergoing surgery, although his injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

Investigators believe the man had been at a property in Northgate about 4.30am and had caused damage to a vehicle at the address.

Police will allege the occupant of the house then stabbed the man who was seated in a vehicle.

The incident is believed to have followed an earlier altercation involving the two men, who are known to each other, at a property in Gilles Plains.

About 10am today the accused went to the Holden Hill Police Station where he was arrested and charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass, assault, property damage and aggravated assault causing harm.

The accused was refused bail and is expected to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court tomorrow.
