Master Builders Launches Tasmanian Campaign For Federal Election

Labor's promise to double capital gains tax and restrict negative gearing gearing are a risk for Tasmania

Master Builders is launching its campaign for the Federal Election in Tasmania today.
The campaign will include free to air advertising.
"The building and construction industry is vital to the State''s economy and the living standards of Tasmanians in every community," Denita Wawn, CEO to Master Builders Australia said.
"We are here in Tasmania with Master Builders Tasmania to launch our advertising campaign to oppose policies that will undermine the building and construction industry and pose a risk to economic growth in the State," she said.
"Thousands of people around the state are employed or derive their livelihood from our industry. Labor's policy to double the capital gains tax people pay and to restrict negative gearing is a risk to Tasmania's housing market just when things are going well," Denita Wawn said.
"Construction union bullies are increasingly targeting the state's major projects and commercial and civil construction sector. Tasmanians need to Labor to keep The Australian Building and Construction Commission (ABCC)," she said.
"The building industry is major contributor to the state and Tasmanian's are heavily involved in negative gearing especially as the state's housing market picks up," Denita Wawn
