MCI Minister Encourages Collaboration in Presenting Advanced Digital Technology through ITF Exhibition

– The fourth Digital Economy Working Group (DEWG) meeting in Indonesia's G20 Presidency 2022 serves as the right momentum to present renewable digital technology.

The Minister of Communications and Informatics Johnny G. Plate stated that the Government of the Republic of Indonesia continues to strengthen collaboration with various developed and developing countries to face future challenges.

"I believe the current collaboration demonstrates how challenging our future is and the presence of Digital Economy Working Group delegates from G20 member countries can encourage future collaborations," he said while visiting the Industrial Task Force (ITF) Exhibition at the Mulia Hotel Ballroom of Bali, Monday (29/08/2022).

The Minister stated that the involvement of the private sector or digital platforms would strengthen the collaboration. He illustrated this by pointing out the example of the presence of the Marvel Cinematic Universe which provides support in eradicating criminals in the digital space.

"With the emergence of various digital technologies such as Driverless Cars, Metaverse, Advanced Robotic Assistance, and Artificial Intelligence Based Technologies, it is starting to feel like we are actually living in a science fiction film," he explained.

In addition to the ITF exhibition, the Digital Innovation Network (DIN) is also set to become part of the series of events in the fourth G20 DEWG meetings in Bali. In this occasion, Johnny also extended his invitation to G20 delegates to participate in the event.

"I would like to invite all of you to join us at the G20 Digital Innovation Network to be held on the coming September 2 to 4, next week," he said. Meanwhile, the Minister also emphasized that the presence of delegates from G20 member countries in the fourth DEWG meeting created a positive impact on the tourism sector in Bali

Province. Therefore, Johnny invited the delegates to enjoy every tourist destinations the Island of the Gods has to offer.

After opening the ITF exhibition, Johnny immediately visited 12 exhibition stands which represented 12 companies and 2 government agencies. The twelve partner companies include Traveloka, Itemku, GoTo, Gatebox Metaverse, Pre-Employment Card, Bukalapak, Halodoc, Telkom Indonesia, Gudangada, Telkomsel, Amazon Web Service, and PeduliLindung.
