Midland suspicious fire

Arson Squad detectives are seeking information from the public to assist with their investigation into a suspicious fire that occurred in Midland on Monday, 26 August 2019.

About 3.30pm, Police and Department of Fire and Emergency Services were called to the fire at a vacant premise located on Spring Park Road.

It is believed a bin on the veranda was set on fire which spread to the roof space before it spread to the whole building. Damage is estimated at $250,000.

Several people and vehicles were in the vicinity of the fire and police are urging anyone who saw any suspicious activity, persons or vehicles or who has any dash cam footage of the area around the time of the fire is asked to come forward.

Rewards of up to $50,000 are available for information that leads to the apprehension and subsequent conviction of an arsonist.
