The Milton Ulladulla community is a step closer to accessing enhanced medical imaging services, with construction now complete on upgraded imaging facilities at Milton Ulladulla Hospital.
The enhanced health facilities form part of the Minns Labor Government's $7.5 million investment to deliver improved health infrastructure at Milton Ulladulla Hospital, ensuring it can meet the current and future healthcare needs of the South Coast community.
The upgraded medical imaging service includes the installation of a new CT scanner and X-ray machine. The upgraded facility will improve access to diagnostic imaging capabilities in the region.
Use of the advanced X-ray machine will start in the newly refurbished imaging room once commissioning and training has been completed, which is anticipated shortly. Operational commissioning is now also underway, including recruitment and staff training, to prepare for the commencement of CT services at the hospital in the coming months.
The Milton Ulladulla Hospital upgrades form part of more than $1 billion in health infrastructure investments by the Minns Labor Government across the Illawarra Shoalhaven region, including Shellharbour, Shoalhaven and Wollongong.
The completion of the upgraded medical imaging facilities follows the recent completion of the Community Cancer Services Centre at Milton Ulladulla Hospital, which delivered new and enhanced treatment and consultation spaces for cancer patients in the region.
