Mira Bashi joins Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman Board

The Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman (TIO) Limited welcomes the new appointment of Mira Bashi as a member of its Board of Directors in February 2021.

Mira Bashi will be joining as a Director with Industry Experience, replacing Jane van Beelen who has resigned from the TIO Board.

Ms Bashi began her career as a Telstra Graduate, and has developed her career into a senior customer experience and product marketing executive. She has over 25 years' experience with leading international telecommunication brands, and extensive business transformation experience. Her strengths are in building high-performance teams with a track record in delivering results within challenging environments.

More recently Ms Bashi has focused on designing and delivering an exceptional Customer Experience through data-led continuous improvement, human centred design and orchestrating the end-to-end delivery of the strategic business transformation program.

Alongside the new appointment, Andrew Sheridan has been reappointed as a Director with Industry Experience for a second three-year term, and Gordon Renouf has been reappointed as a Director with Consumer Experience for a third three-year term.

"I congratulate Mira on her appointment to the TIO Board, and thank outgoing member Jane Van Beelan for her contribution over the past two years," Board Chair Michael Lavarch said.

"Mira's skills and experience with business transformation will be a welcome addition to the Board as we move through the next phase of our three year strategy."

As required by the TIO's company constitution, formal recruitment processes were undertaken for Board vacancies.

The Board of TIO Limited is chaired by an independent Director and comprises a balanced mix of Directors with industry and consumer experience, an Independent Director with not-for-profit governance experience and an Independent Director with commercial governance experience.
