Missing girl in Canterbury

Police are appealing for public assistance to find a 14-year-old girl missing from south west Sydney, NSW Police say.

The last confirmed sighting of Shannon Wiggins was at Canterbury Railway Station on Thursday 28 July 2016; however, police from Marrickville Local Area Command have been told she was seen at a home on Burwood Road, Belmore, last Friday (29 July 2016).

Police are also investigating a report she was seen outside a school on Church Street, Canterbury, about 3.15pm yesterday.

Despite extensive searches of the area, she hasn’t been found by police.

Ms Wiggins is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 165cm-170cm tall, of thin build, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Police and family have concerns for her welfare due to her age and that she suffers from medical issues.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to come forward.
